This page covers issues specific to using Immich apps with Gumnut. For general Immich app troubleshooting, see the Immich documentation.

Large File Upload Timeouts

Problem: Uploads of large files (especially long videos) fail partway through from the mobile app. The Immich mobile app enforces a 60-second HTTP request timeout for uploads. If a file can’t finish uploading within 60 seconds, the app disconnects and the upload fails. The exact file size threshold depends on your internet connection speed. Workaround: Upload large files through the Immich web app at immich.gumnut.ai instead. The web app doesn’t have the same app-level timeout, though very large uploads may still be limited by your browser, network, or intermediate proxies.

Features Showing Empty Results

Problem: Some sections of the Immich app appear empty (memories, tags, place search, etc.). This can be expected. Gumnut does not yet support every Immich feature, and unsupported sections return empty results rather than errors. The map view is supported, but it only shows assets that already have GPS coordinates. If your map looks empty, first confirm the photos you expect are geotagged. See the compatibility page for the current support matrix, including which location features are still unavailable.

Quota Exceeded During Upload

Problem: An upload fails with “Quota has been exceeded!”. In the mobile app, the rest of the batch may stop after that error. This means your Gumnut account has reached its current storage limit. Gumnut returns the same quota error shape that Immich clients expect, so the app stops retrying files that cannot upload until you have space available again. What to do:
  • Check the storage numbers shown in the Immich app to confirm your current usage and limit.
  • Free up space in your library, then retry the upload.
  • If you need more room and aren’t sure what your limit should be, contact Gumnut support.

OAuth Callback Errors During Sign-In

Problem: Sign-in fails with “Invalid or expired OAuth state token. Please restart the login flow.” This usually happens if you refresh, reopen, or retry the same OAuth callback page after signing in. Gumnut treats the callback state token as one-time use, and it can also expire if you take too long to finish the flow. What to do:
  • Return to the Immich app and start sign-in again.
  • Avoid refreshing or reopening the same callback page after it fails.
  • If a fresh sign-in attempt fails immediately, contact Gumnut support.
